Duration: 6 monthsRate: $55/hrLocation: Chevy Chase , MDSeeking a senior business analyst to assist with leading an effort to convert over 3000 hard copy reports into a subset of online reports. The individual should have strong leadership, delegation, mentoring skills as well as critical thinking, analytical and decision making skills. They will have oral and written communication skills such that they can interact with senior management. They will demonstrate an appropriate sense of urgency and be able to perform under pressure as well as multitask. They must have the leadership abilities to enforce good analysis standards and not allow short cuts. The senior business analyst should highly motivated, with working knowledge of all phases of the SDLC, project management practices, hands on experience with development of requirements and test plans and other relevant project artifacts. Strong oral and written communication skills required including the ability to communicate technical problems to non technical audiences. Critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills required. Candidate must be able to work independently with limited supervision, be willing to contribute as a team player, show an appropriate sense of urgency, be able to perform under pressure and multitask. In this role, the candidate will be required to work closely with developers and testers to ensure functional requirements are implemented and tested to the defined specifications. Understanding of relational database concepts and experience with SQL queries is a plus. A suitable candidate will possess the ability to identify requirements by interviewing business users, analyzing processes / operations, establishing solution objectives, and preparing specifications as well as confirming project outcomes by establishing standards, testing and QA requirements; writing QA cases; and performing quality testing. Knowledge of the Claims, Policy and/or downstream systems is a strong plus. College degree is a plus.
